What Makes A Company Successful?
Arkansas Business Journal recently published a company profile on Advanced in the April 17 - 23rd weekly issue. During our visit with Senior Editor, George Waldon, and Editor, Gwen Moritz, we discovered how similar our company culture was to that of the Arkansas Business Journal. As we talked to them about our success and struggles over the past 20 years, George and Gwen nodded in understanding and agreement of the similarity between the two stories.
So what is it that has caused the success of Advanced, Arkansas Business Journal, and others with similar pasts? We believe it comes down to hiring the right people who fit your culture and business objectives, and then continuously investing the time and money into their personal and professional growth. We spend roughly 24% of our week at work, so it's important taht we surround ourselves with people who we enjoy working with and who are just as passionate about Advanced and our clients as we are.
Besides hiring great employees, a successful company and great culture stems from the leaders. Leaders who encourage employees and make them feel truly invested in the company help to maintain a positive culture and increase the retention rate.
Within our corporate office, we have branded our culture and turned it into an atmosphere that employees, clients, and visitors get to experience physically. From the collaboration room, complete with splashes of lime green paint and a ping pong table, to the individual styles of employees' offices: we see, talk, live, and embody our company culture.
